Waddya mean we're living in a police state? This kind officer gave the driver a whole 15 seconds to produce identification before yelling at her! 40 seconds before the officer uses violence.
Timeframe:
0:08 - Officer identifies self
0:20 - Officer finishes describing charges
0:23 - Officer begins yelling
0:33 - Officer opens door
0:39 - Officer orders citizen out of the car
0:47 - Officer shuts door on citizen half-exited from car
0:49 - Officer shoves citizen
0:52 - Officer tazers citizen
Pay attention. You have 15 seconds to produce ID before the cop gets
hostile. 40 seconds until the office begins using violence against the suspect. If you fail to produce in 45 seconds you get tazed with a
potentially lethal weapon. Of course, the crime here is going 5 over the speed limit and having the license plate on the front of the car as opposed to the rear of the car. Is a ticket or strict warning in order? Sure. Maybe he's just having a bad Thanksgiving day. Worse things can happen. You could be branded as a "klan" or "member of a militant group" for having "subversive" books and belonging to groups like the Constitutional Society.
Unfortunately, the officers aren't sure if they can seize her books and add charges to her case because they don't like her reading list.
