3rd Party advertisers (Google) may use cookies for tracking and advertising purposes.  Google is also requiring me to tell you this.  They have provided no technical details regarding this decision, so I have none to pass on to you.  Here is the actual language:  must notify their users of the use of cookies and/or web beacons to collect data in the ad serving process. This change relates to advertisers' use of innovative products and features like Gadget Ads, Google's new test ad server, and other offerings in the future.

Google claims that they only use cookies to understand how they set up advertisements and track earnings.  If you think this is a bad idea, please write to Google about it.  They stopped answering my complaints.
